Neatly Home respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

1. Who we are

Neatly Home is an online store based in South Africa, owned and run by Vanessa Whittaker (sole proprietor). Vanessa is responsible for your personal information and is our Information Officer under POPIA.

2. What we collect

Order details: your name, delivery address, phone number, email address, and what you bought.
Payment: handled by our payment provider. We don't see or store your full card details.
Messages: anything you send us by email or social media.
Website data: our store platform (Shopify) automatically collects technical information such as your IP address, device, browser and pages visited, using cookies.
Marketing (only if you agree): your email or phone number if you sign up for offers.

3. Why we use it

To process, deliver and support your order, including returns and refunds.
To answer your questions and complaints.
To keep accounting and tax records, as the law requires.
To prevent fraud and keep our store secure.
To send you marketing messages, only with your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.

We don't sell your personal information.

4. Who we share it with

We only share what's needed:

Our supplier and courier companies: your name, address and phone number, so they can pack and deliver your order.
Our payment provider: to process your payment.
Shopify: hosts our website and order records.
Authorities, if the law requires it.

5. Information sent outside South Africa

Some providers, like Shopify, store data on servers outside South Africa. We only use providers that protect personal information to a similar standard as POPIA.

6. How long we keep it

Order and payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Customer messages: as long as needed to sort out your query.
Marketing lists: until you unsubscribe.

7. Cookies

Our website uses cookies to make the store work (like remembering your cart) and to understand how it's used. You can block cookies in your browser, but parts of the store may not work.

8. How we protect it

We use secure (HTTPS) checkout, limit who can see customer information, and use strong passwords and two-factor authentication. If a data breach affects you, we'll tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

9. Your rights

Under POPIA you can:

Ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
Ask us to correct or delete it, unless the law says we must keep it.
Object to us using it, and withdraw consent for marketing at any time.
Complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).
